Porsche AG is headquartered in Stuttgart, and is particularly owned by Volkswagen AG, that's itself majority-belonging to Porsche Automobil Holding SE. Porsche's current lineup includes the 718 Boxster/Cayman, 911, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne.Porsche's logo was based on the coat of arms in the Free People's State of Württemberg of former Weimar Germany, which have Stuttgart since it's capital. (The same arms were utilized by Württemberg-Hohenzollern from 1945-1952, while Stuttgart of these years was the main city of adjacent Württemberg-Baden.) The arms of Stuttgart was positioned in the middle as a possible inescutcheon, considering that the cars were manufactured in Stuttgart. The heraldic symbols were together with the texts "Porsche" and "Stuttgart", which implies that it is not a coat of arms since heraldic achievements never disclose the name with the armiger nor the armigers neighborhood in the shield.Württemberg-Baden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern became part on the present land of Baden-Württemberg in 1952 following political consolidation of West Germany in 1949, plus the old design with the arms of Württemberg now only lives on within the Porsche logo. On 30 January 1951, shortly before the development of Baden-Württemberg, Ferdinand Porsche died from complications after a stroke.
